Women’s Rights and Empowerment

Since 2021, in partnership with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Burundi, ISHAKA 2250 has carried out awareness and empowerment campaigns targeting the most vulnerable women in the former provinces of Gitega, Ngozi, and rural Bujumbura, notably through the SIKO ZUBAKWA and LA FEMME ET L'ENFANT AUSSI projects.
Additionally, with the support of the Embassy of France in Burundi, the project NYINA W'ITERAMBERE (Mother of Development) has sensitized and empowered 100 displaced women in Gatete zone, Rumonge commune, by supporting them in their agricultural, tailoring, and commercial
activities, thereby strengthening their role in local development.
